Pros

You'll be surrounded by some of the smartest people in their industry, from all over the world. Insane benefits, including on-site chef that cooks free lunch every day, monthly massages, unlimited time off and work from home capabilities, etc.

Cons

If you're not accustomed to startup life, you may not deal with the stress very well. As long as you're used to the occasional flare-up and can kick into overdrive to solve last-minute problems when they come up, you'll be fine.

Pros

- Focusing on research that matters: we are free to (and have the means to) pursue radically different research without worrying about publishing incremental changes - A diverse community within Vicarious: my colleagues come from very different backgrounds: from machine learning to neuroscience, cognitive science ... IMHO it feels as fun as graduate school, where I could collaborate with people across many different departments - As employees, we have a voice in all sorts of matters in our daily life as a company. We are regularly asked for our opinion, including in matters beyond research (if you're a researcher). - Work/life balance is great: the focus is on producing good research in the medium/long run, not on crunch and pulling late nights to get a short-term result.

Cons

- The commute is a bit long if you live in the city, and the building has no showers.
