Pros

it is really a nice campus and blacksburg is a peaceful little town though might be a little bit boring.

Cons

the working environment is not very competitive and therefore people may lose some incentive to further their studies.

Pros

Lots of training opportunities and tuition reimbursement if you are pursing an advanced degree. The campus is beautiful and Blacksburg is a wonderful town.

Cons

Lower pay than the private sector. Job security that was once a given is no longer applicable. University is moving toward a business model that in no way benefits the employee or consumer (student).
