Steer clear

Pros

Outside of management, team members are good colleagues who genuinely care

Cons

Management either doesn't know what they're doing or are afraid to stand up to the owner (who definitely doesn't know what he is doing). Those who stand up and try to change things for the better are promptly let go. This leads to a bad culture and little trust amongst colleagues. I've never seen a place with more office politics.

Pros

Good product, lots of company events, excellent benefits package, many employees are wonderful, educated, well-traveled, cultured and open-minded. Even the not nice ones are most of these too!

Cons

Low salaries (as a result of excellent benefits), unattainable sales goals set (so they don't have to pay you out at end of year), For Sales, they set your bonus to your goal- so if you do not meet your goal, you do not get your bonus. All the money you made for the company, stays with the company but you get no bonus unless 90% +, not enough market research is conducted from management when formulating goals, no support from marketing (you are basically on your ow), No business with HR is good business with HR, Can be overly gossipy among co-workers and clique-y. There is an unspoken reward system for those that are high performers but utterly horrible humans. This should not be the case. Even if they make money for the company, the greater picture is not worth their poison. There isn't a big picture view. The management just looks at the year in front of them, not the years to come. Owner is a millionaire and an eccentric and is not in touch with reality.

Pros

Good products, great office location.

Cons

The publisher is a complete fool. Most of management is as well.
