Pros

Roma / PFG / Vistar is one of the leaders in food distribution. The quality of the products that they have branded are in a class above the rest. It is easy to sell great quality products that you can be proud to sell.

Cons

It is a challenge to make money in the food distribution industry at the present time. With the rise of food prices the margin that a sales person can produce is less and less every year. It makes for a very challenging work environment.

Pros

Decent benefits, dedicated management, friendly work environment, room for advancement, competitive salary ranges and generous, employee focused holiday parties. Many employees with decades of experience at the company.

Cons

Under staffed and worked fairly hard. Too many "people" layers to bring effective change quickly. Some departments seem siloed. Annual raise process is lacking

Pros

Management is good to their employees. Job is interesting and always work to do, never a dull minute. Most employee's of Vistar are long term employee's. Good vacation, sick/personal time. Benefits are good, not real please with the pharmacy portion since they moved to a company that doesnt have a pharnacy in our state which means any long term meds must be order by email. Fair reviews, Manager willing to teach as needed and offers training when needed or asked. Managers help grow their staff to further

Cons

Company is growing too big - too quickly. Owner and upper management still the same, however, located elsewhere and the changes within our organization have been bitter sweet throughout the past three years.
