Pros

They try to give you good benefits and extra things like food and parties.

Cons

Management is clueless and just makes decisions to please the board even though they are terrible.

Pros

My co-workers, Heath saving account (NOT the health insurance).

Cons

Lots of inconveniences for those of us who used to work at ITXM and were taken over by Vitalant. Before we had local IT people available to help us. Now we have to call Arizona to talk to an IT person who, if it anything more difficult than unlocking a program, generally cannot help you and has to write a ticket to the "desktop" people -- who are our original IT people! So instead of taking one phone call to fix it now takes at least 2 calls and having to wait anywhere from 1-4 hours for a desktop person to call back. My machine died a couple of months ago and it took 3 days to get me a new one. They won't even allow IT to come to us to set up our machines. They deliver machines through inter-office courier, you are required to get all the cables plugged in correctly yourself, and then get to call AZ back to get another ticket written to the Dekstop team to call you about things that are wrong (like no printer set up, no Adobe, etc.). All in all, I spent 3 working days wandering from free desk to free desk trying to find a place to work. That was very cost effective. New purchasing system now too time consuming. If what you want is not in their storefront shops, it is on you to find what you want, find out the cost, hope the vendor is an approved vendor, then complete the purchase req and submit it. That is all stuff our old purchasing agents used to do but -- oh yes -- they were all laid off. So many, many things wrong, including being brought in under their "new employee" pay scale instead of the pay scale that would represent the number of years you have actually worked in your job even though we were told we were going to be grandfathered into their system..

Your comments are appreciated and we are sorry to hear that the change to a centralized IT support model has been challenging for you. As we continue to work through these changes, we strive to make every effort to improve the IT service provided to our employees and your feedback will help us work toward that goal. If you have further comments that you would like to share, please feel free to share those with us directly at communications@vitalant.org.
