Pros

The international reach of Volvo allows employees, both veteran and new, many opportunities for travel and cultural learning. Upper management has high respect for all levels of employees. Communication is strong throughout the entire global organization. Manager reviews twice per year are taken seriously and personal development is considered important. Extended learning opportunities such as training for technical tools and detailed information on company structure is readily available throught the year.

Cons

Heavy duty engine manufactiring profitability is cyclic in nature and is controlled by governmental regualtions. This trend results in high stress working conditions in years approaching new regulations. Employess must learn to deal with the time difference between their counterparts in the many countries that they will deal with on a daily basis.
