Communication lacks coherence, machines not up to standards.

You don't get breaks. At all. If you're a truck driver (which roughly half of all employees at a quarry are), you are expected to sit in your truck the entire day. You don't get a lunch, you don't get bathroom breaks, you get nothing. If you have to use the bathroom, you better do it fast, because if your production is behind anyone elses, you're getting fired. You are a number. That is all. Opportunities for advancement are extremely limited due to the nature of the work performed. Upwards mobility, as far as management, doesn't really exist. Yes, there are "foreman", but once you're there, you can't really go up further.
