Transformation in action

Pros

With the industry going through a major transformation - HGST and its leadership are making the necessary changes (although some are difficult) to set up the company for future success. The company's theme for the year is "accelerate our transformation" - it takes vision, courage and leadership to make it this time of change -- I truly believe we have it!

Cons

Although gain have been made on a culture of collaboration, more is needed.

Pros

HGST still has some of its good bones inherited from IBM. For those who don't know, HGST goes back to the days when IBM sold its hard drive division and some other assets to Hitachi. Good management teams. Good benefits and competitive pay.

Cons

While HGST is now a part of Western Digital, there have been operational constraints imposed on HGST due to regulatory action from China. This has been complicating things with regard to the future direction and structure of HGST.
