Pros

This is the company still labeling itself a technology company. But nothing to say a props to it. More than 10 years working here witnessed how management teams skewed up, messed up, and transformed good technology team into ground. No technology any more, it is a big joke.

Cons

Good people escaped out of the company, incapable people and meeting hardball players are pretending to be the valuable assets of the company. They are driving WD into the ground. It is thought that buying Sandisk could save WD. If the same management team is running, no chance. It is slowing dying. Don't consider this company if you have a choice.

Pros

Work-life balance - unless you are a Sr. Director or higher, generally there isn't a lot of demand on your nights and weekends. Free cross-fit and yoga

Cons

Outdated business model - despite some capital investment in growth areas, the political climate within the company still treats the growth business unit (BU) as a step-child and doesn't provide the non-capital support necessary for the fledgling BU to thrive (i.e., they keep moving the target goals for the BU, or adding target goals without providing additional resources) Bare minimum benefits Main locations in Irvine and San Jose are not ideal Bare minimum investment in resources, such as HR, IT and Legal
