Pros

H-1B, get GC very quick, and it is good place to apply green card, and company pay all the application fee. No other reason to work for this company. The orgnization of this company is very bad. The people spent 30% time on begging support from IT, and IT department in Fremont abuses their power without any limitation since them direct report to lake forest headquater.

Cons

too much office politics, and tough working environment. You can go to western digital if you want to accelate your aging. Almost every engineer has white hair. !!!!

Pros

The industry and the company has been doing well thanks to the hard work of all the all the employees.

Cons

No career advancement plans for new employees. Mafia mentality with certain ethnicities dominating others. The large variability in base pay and bonuses and lack of annual raises are making good people move elsewhere. The pay for performance line is just a slogan used by the CEO at quarterly meetings; not enough transparency on how reviews and bonuses are tied.

Pros

There are no good reasons to work for Western Digital other than it's a paycheck and better than being unemployed. Management has no respect for work/life balance. If you hate spending time with your family, then this is the perfect company for you. They expect all employees to give work precedence over your personal life and family.

Cons

"Sweatshop" type of work environment. Salaries have been frozen since 1999. Salary increases only can only come with promotions. There is no cost of living adjustment. Pay is below industry standard, but in recent years they tell us they "make it up with bonuses" which are completely up to the manager's discretion and can be withdrawn at any time.
