Pros
Money, health benefits, some additional perks, some co-workers were great, but you can say that about any company
Cons
Absolutely no employee loyalty, but you can say that about any company these days Overall arrogance--there something about trash services (that EVERYONE needs) that makes WM think they are the big shots I NEVER had a customer thank me for the hard work I did, but that probably goes with the industry too. I stuck with it for the money. Lots of testosterone, politics, power plays, and the ocassional devious boy just waiting to take advantage of you. Several times on a conference call, a VP would not announce himself and would "spy" or eavesdrop just to catch you doing or saying something wrong. When WM was on TV in Undercover Boss, I could relate to everything. Pushing people so far (for productivity) that a female residental driver had to urinate in a jar on a route just about summed it all up. And lastly, I was ALWAYS told I was doing something wrong. All negativity, no positive environment which lead to extremely low morale--but that was partly my responsibility, so I quit in 2006.
