Pros

Salary, opportunity, experience, compensation, 401k

Cons

Management believes unless you have been in the industry for more than 10 years you should not be allowed to voice your opinion. Creative thinking is frowned upon. The culture is one of harassment and intimidation. There is no justice at any level in this company. The Albuquerque office is under new management and they are trying to push a corporate agenda that hires too many people and leaves current employees with nothing to do except attack one another for petty things. If you enjoy office politics this is your place. Anti-social culture that forces you to have awkward attempts at connecting with people who are closed minded and bitter because they have not made it to where they should be after 25 years. Many managers dont even have a degree in engineering. Insecurity rules. Try to innovate or show ambition and prepare to be slowly “pushed” out as my manager put it.

Pros

I guess we do “cool” projects, but so do other companies that don’t have the same baggage and overhead as us.

Cons

It’s a corporation. For every dollar you make in profit, they take away a sizable chunk which leaves little room for raises and promotions. Upper management is out of touch, and the middle management who you work with have no real power or influence even though they deal with the day to day operation. Pay is just low. I get it that sometimes you sacrifice pay for better experience, but this is not the place you should do that. I still work here, but the vibe is people are looking elsewhere unless we all get a significant pay bump.

Pros

Only the salary. It was fair for the position and area

Cons

Horrible and unorganized upper management, sometimes hostile work environment, no work/life balance with constant overtime expected, unethical practices in reimbursing FEMA inspectors for per diem costs, outdated technology and code, favoritism (old boys club), no training, new ideas discouraged, poor benefits, high turnover rate for full-time staff
