Terrible middle management and surprisingly archaic

Pros

The group of companies is responsible for some impressive work. Lots of talent there as well, though limited to a particular demographic. The Canadian arm of the company seems to be more progressive.

Cons

Do not work at this company if you are entrepreneurial, a woman, or a minority. If you have an inexperienced manager, make sure to communicate and document issues, and if you are unable to make headway, get out fast.

Pros

Diverse clientele make for interesting work. Rarely lacking in work.

Cons

Sub par benefits for the size of company. Upper management seems oblivious to how poor the benefits are. Pay is well under(10-15%) the area average. Very difficult to determine requirements for growth/promotion path. Seems to be an unspoken rule that you will work the hours necessary to complete a project, even if it means working unpaid overtime due to not enough allocated budget.

Too many chiefs, not enough indians

Pros

Bigger company, decent starting pay, makes you think you will earn progression

Cons

They would rather hire externally than replace you in your current position. They make it sound like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to get the raise that you earned. WAY too many chiefs fighting over how to proceed... and not enough indians to get the job done so you work massive overtime *for me, by choice to try to compensate my poor pay for the jobs dumped on me* to get the job(s) done. They cater too much to the client with unrealistic goals with bare bones staff vs investing in their employees longevity.
