Pros

Good projects and practice overall. Friendly people generally with the exception of some people who become territorial with respect to clients. They have made some good changes to the org. structure in recent years where they focus more on various sectors as they try to wean away from Transportation Led leadership. Good growth prospects for junior staff as you can work with major clients on major projects. Firm is very well known and respected.

Cons

Very bad benefits. While the pay is not so bad, the benefits package overall really lacks. With the new investments in the infrastructure the firm wants to grow but they are really making slow improvements in benefits. The health plan is very expensive with high premiums even for the high deductible options. The 401k contributions is subpar. The PTO is not bad, but family leave is terrible at 3 weeks for parental leave. There is no Sick Leave!!! Leadership keeps touting good benefits vs the completion, but if they want to get ahead of the competition they should make real improvements. For a firm that keeps saying we are the best they should offer the best for employees, but I guess the holding company (WSP Global) doesn't care about employee welfare. Specially in the US since we don't enjoy the less expensive healthcare and better pension outlooks that the folks in Canada or UK have. Still has a long way to go to grow in the US to compete with the other major players. While the firm is big globally and in the top 3-5 in most business, in the US it still lacks and the competition holds major market share.
