Pros

I enjoyed working with my peers and the building / amenties were fantastic. I also think the Graduate Program was quite good. There was some flexibility on "working time" and generally the hours were not overly long, compared to other organisations. I think that HR did the best they could with the very limited resources they were provided.

Cons

This place is run by Financial Controllers, who each year ask for more revenue and less cost (brilliant!). Willis is paralysed by its margin and has taken its eye off the top line. This has resulted in no meaningful investment in new products, IT applications and most importantly, non regulation training. There has been no training budget for at least 3 years which is a disgrace. Approval to hire replacements takes forever and Associates are just meant to "get on". Unless you have been there twenty years, you can also forget about having an opinion. A very stale organisation, that talks the talk but simply does not deliver. I don't know why they employ middle managers as they are not empowered to do anything.

Pros

*Employee will acquire practical actuary working knowledge in Towers Watson. *The internal actuary training is helpful. *People working around are nice and helpful. *Instead of regular 401K matching, company offers pension plan.

Cons

The merging didn't work very well for the new company. Many young and talent employee are leaving or laid off because of the overlapping departments or positions. It's hard to tell whose department is better than the other. Politics won the final decision of who would step up and who would step down. The benefit and pay is just fine. You pay more than $150 every month for medical and $3,000 dollars deductible every year. The bonus rate is ok and it's based on your level and overtime hours.

Pros

Everyone's expierence greatly by office and line of business, but for me the things I liked, is my office was understaffed at the level above me so I received a lot of opportunites to grow my skill set early on.

Cons

Work life balance is almost no existant in this office, pay/bonus structure is strange, senior management does not seem to show any interest at all in assoicate level employees, treat you like a work horse. Every associate gets paid the same, so weather you are good or bad, you get the same pay.
