Pros

None (maybe schadenfreude) actually, one positive -- it's impossible to get fired no matter how incompetent you are (really a negative because of all the dead weight and horrible managers)

Cons

way below market value salaries no pay raises (I know several people who have waited YEARS for management to complete an "annual" appraisal.) horrible benefits (worst options for healthcare I've ever seen) hostile work environment incompetent management horrible work environment (loud, distracting, no labs or equipment) all complaints, constructive criticism, and suggestions are completely ignored no integrity in management (slimy used car salesmen who lie and blow smoke) no responsibility in management (always have an excuse for their failures; always someone else's fault) no trust in management no opportunities for advancement obsolete technology/languages hypocrites who do not follow company core values employees not seen as human beings; only seen as resources to be used or tossed

Pros

Very nice new office. Professional and competent coworkers.

Cons

There is only one layer of management present at this location. All other management is remote and clueless to the day to day operations here. Management is willing to cut corners to make schedule obligations at the customer’s expense. This is compounded by a complete lack of any adherence to a software development process and leads to a focus on fighting fires. Employees are disengaged, un-empowered and generally feel unvalued. There is no training programs, limited opportunities for advancement, tasks are dictated, and there are no bonus or other incentive programs, all the while management micromanages everything due to their distrust of the employees. Overall, the employees are underpaid based on current market values and because management is negligent on providing timely performance reviews the employees are left with no other recourse than to seek employment elsewhere. The attrition rate is on the rise. Poor performers are not being held accountable and no one seems to have any authority to make changes.
