Pros

You get to travel across country and sights that most people will only dream of seeing. The job it's self is a great job.

Cons

Extremely low pay. The hours worked vs the house paid. Work 12 hours and only get paid for 8 hours. At the end of two weeks of work my pay was less then minimum wage when calculated pay for the time actualy worked. Office politics runs the field operations

Get experience and learn (if you go for it) from experienced professionals from the industry. Programming design and testing on the same company is very good.

Cons

No room for advance, if you do, the money won't match the effort, HR policies completely out of tune with the employee needs. Salary and benefits wise

-Potential to earn a high salary -Good fringe benefits -There are a lot of great people to work with -Safe industry to work in -There is a lot to learn and it stays interesting

Cons

-Need to have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering if you want to go anywhere in the company (experience alone isn't enough) -Xorail's parent company is mechanistic and may get in the way of allowing you to get the merit increases you want
