Pros

Manage every aspect of a store almost as if you owned it.

Cons

Cutbacks. The company is hurting its future b/c college grads are no longer attracted to what walgreens can offer them.

Pros

If there is a need of hours, they have a lot of stores that can provide hours. All stores are similar in structure and system that one can just jump in and work without feeling new to the job. They greet employees on their birthdays by giving them birthday cards and also they give christmas gifts/bonus not a lot but still nice to get. The company didn't made me feel that I am just an employee.

Cons

It's the workers/co-workers that made me feel I'm just an employee. The problem with co-workers can also be a problem in any similar setting. I cannot blame the company for it. Co-workers having more authority over others for being friends with the right people. Inspite of open door policy, it somehow does not eliminate these kinds of problems. I never had a problem with the company.

Pros

It was a student job with fair wages, and the typical incentives. First couple months seemed alright, I even decided to take on the task of opening on weekends to gain a couple hours. Pace of work load appeared just right.

Cons

Nearly 9 months in, the management structure completely collapsed at my location (obviously only relates to my location) The comfort level from upper to lower staff disappeared due to new faces in the upper division, & many of my fellow co-workers went on to pursue higher education / other occupations. There was an unbearable amount of work load for one to handle; staffing decreased drastically, more often than not, I was working the cash register/ floor/ photo/ stock all at the same time. I didn't see any improvement in working conditions, nor did my paychecks. The backbone of the store was gone, and pretty soon, so was I.
