Pros

There is oppportunity to advance

Cons

HR never returns calls if seeking other roles Expensive Health Insurance must wait 1 yr to use any vacation including sick days very political office they fire managment and replace with awful inexperienced people constant managment complaints on employees overall the office seems like you are in kindergarten and you are there to work, mind your business and perform perfectly and their way, if not, write ups are handed out like candy and rumours start to arise

Pros

Good benefits/retirement plan. Decent place for a part time or second job.

Cons

Slave hours. Expect to work 75% of the weekend days. Expect your 2 days off to be split up throughout the week. If you are under 30 years old they will schedule you for most of the night shifts and say you can handle it because you're young. Pay is just enough to keep you from quitting. Very few new stores being built recently, which means less oppurtunity for advancement. Store Managers sit in the office and do paperwork all day, while Assistants and cashiers do all the actual work. District Managers come in the store once a month and give nothing but negative feedback and criticism. Corporate continues to cut budget hours in the store and expect fewer employees to handle the same workload. No raises since 2008, since you should be "lucky to have job". They unabashedly view store employess as interchangable parts. Employees are stretched too thin making it very difficult to consistently give good customer service which creates angry, belligerent customers and in turn disgruntled, hostile employees. Most co-workers are miserable to work with because they hate their jobs, workplace, and customers just as much as you do. But if you can put with all that for 40-50 years you can get a pretty nice retirement package.

Pros

* The culture is AMAZING! * Management ecourages open and honest communication. * Management encourages open dialogue for new ideas and ways to improve satisfaction (employee and cutstomer). * Mutual respect from all "levels" of the organization. * Flexibility with time off * They say they only hire nice people... and it's true!

Cons

* Because no one ever leaves, there is limited opportunity for advancement. * It feels like we are gradually being taken over by Walgreens (we currently a subsidary) and I just hope their culture and business acumen doesn't infect ours! * IT communication and effeciency needs to be corrected.
