Pros

The Walgreens of ten years ago was an incredible place to work. The computer system was cutting edge. The pharmacies were well designed for efficiency. Then came POWER.

Cons

POWER is a huge failure. Attention to detail and customer satisfaction are things of the past. Many loyal employees and customers are leaving

Pros

Well, based on my experience, they offer intensive training in the management trainee position, both on the computer and hands on in all the department, which prepares you to better handle the different roles that you take in that position. Everyone was very friendly to me and I liked their open door policy from store manager all the way up to the district manager. Even though you have to be flexible with your time, they are willing to work with you in the even that you have appointments or an emergency. Best of all, if you have mastered your current position duties, you can apply for a promotion to the EXA position, and move up from there. All in all, I loved this company when I worked there.

Cons

Well, as much as I love this company, like all others, there are downsides. For example, since you are working shifts, the time you leave depends on what time your replacement comes...or not! So you can be stuck working a double shift. Or you may be off duty one day and if a person who is scheduled to work that day does not come in, you may be asked to fill in. I guess the upside to that is extra pay. Another example, is that you work on the holidays, which does not work well for people with children, since most day cares or schools are closed on holidays.
