Not a family oriented company

Pros

Schedule is somewhat flexible. Actual work is not hard and doesn't require much cognitive thinking. Opportunity to meet all sorts of people.

Cons

Not a family oriented company. If you step-down because of family issues, such as kids, daycare etc. Don't every expect to be promoted back into management. Most of the district and store managers do not have kids and do not understand the sacrifices that sometimes have to be made in order to raise your family. They often try to relate to your situation by saying they understand bc they have dogs. Sorry but dogs cannot be compared to kids, which goes to show they have no understanding of family.

Pros

* My manager gets back in the stock room or the store aisles and does the same things that he requires of us * Extremely flexible when working with you on your schedule * Great and fast opportunities for advancement * Decent pay * The IRA matching program is spectacular * Free flu shots * 15% discount * THEY ARE HIRING Overall, as a first job, it's been a pretty good experience. I would recommend it to others looking for a cashier/stockboy position

Cons

* Obviously rude customers, but hey, it's retail * Co-workers can be quite frustrating * Almost no training * Can be hard work if you're doing it right
