Pros

Walgreens treats their employees with respect, and integrity. You can easily move up as a technician, as long as you know how to do your job correctly. They even pay for your training to become certified!

Cons

They do budget cuts quarterly! Which can really affect you. Also, you work in a limited amount of space... with 5, 6, 7+ people at a time.. so if you don't care too much for a coworker.. you have to suck it up because there is no where to go!

Pros

Advancement is attainable if you work hard to stand out - it helps if you demonstrate a positive attitude. Pay is very good at management level.

Cons

Management did not always support staff when staff followed rules. Lots of preferential treatment which was unfair to some employees. Evaluations were done at the last minute without any real thought.

Pros

The Walgreens retirement plan called Profit Sharing offers a guaranteed 2 to 1 match...one of the best plans out there/

Cons

Walgreens has changed over the years and not for the better. As store manager, 70+ hours a week was a norm simply because the majority of each day was spent as a pharmacy technician, not managing the store. "Rewiring" was meant to take work out of stores to equal the reduction of the workforce but that never occurred. Work would be done to meet the satisfaction of our District Manager but would have to be changed if a visit from the Regional Vice President was possible (a lot of times, projects would be changed back to what they originally were...busywork). Store managers are not given the proper manpower to manage a store.
