Pros

It was fast-paced in my store (and district), and working in the front end, you would meet a lot of people. Even if it was just for a few minutes, you would still have your regulars that would come in, so it was fun. Also, you were on moving around, whether you standing up front, or you were assisting with other types of activities.

Cons

Customers could get upset when we bottle necked up at the registers, and help was limited during a shift, but I understand why they would get irritated. This is retail, so the pay is not high, and you can burnout from the low control what I was able to do (upselling is not exactly exciting)

Pros

The pay is not terrible for the job required Flexible hours Upward movement is decent

Cons

They will treat you like garbage. Do not ever forget you're replaceable, because they won't Abusive management that will make you feel bad for calling in during hard times Corporate will cut your hours so much that the store hardly runs and then question why stuff isn't done
