Pros

The salary is a huge draw to this job but is very misleading. ( if you divide the hours for the pay...you are killing yourself for low pay) You can learn some very valuable skills if you choose to stay in retail. You can change locations/positions if you are brave enough to stay in current role for 18 months. Starting out you get 21 days PTO (Paid time off)... you will need it to keep any sanity.

Cons

No personal life at all. Expected to work 5 days a week at minimum 10 hours a day. Funny how the 5 days turn into 6 and 10 hours turns into 12 !!! Even on your 1 day off, you get text messages/calls and even asked to come in. Forget about family time, weekends, 1rst of the month, holidays, etc. 2 weeks prior to inventory and Regional visits, you will work around the clock. ASM's are highly paid stockers since they are cutting more and more associate hours. Then...you have to "stay over" to get your administrative work done. Quick burn-out. I am not writing this because I am disgruntled but to provide potential job seekers with a clear picture of what to expect so they can make an informed decision. If you want 47,500 a year and no life...go for it ! I'm getting out

I appreciate you leaving us a review – and awesome you're enjoying the newer technology here. It's definitely an exciting time to be working in technology at Walmart eCommerce. I'm disappointed to hear you're less than satisfied with the engineering culture. If you feel comfortable doing so, I would welcome the chance to hear your feedback directly. We rely on our associates' feedback, so we can improve. I can assure you that we have a zero tolerance for retaliation. - Bobbie Grafeld, VP Human Resources, Walmart Labs
