Pros

People, Learning Opportunity, Scale and Environment.  People - There are a lot of intelligent, driven and talented individuals who work at Walmart.com.  Learning Opportunity - if you want to learn about email marketing to site engineering,  supply chain to graphic design, the people at Walmart.com are very open in sharing their experiences with you. Some of the best people in these fields work here.  Scale - working for Walmart has its advantages because of its reach and depth in the market.  Working for WMT allows you to touch almost every aspect of a full product cycle. Environment - depending on the grouop, it still has a small, Dotcom feel.

Cons

HORRIBLE benefits, too many meetings and red tape (from Bentonville).  We cannot be a part of the 401k program until your 13th month on the job.  The selection of Health benefits is really bad. The pay is not comparable to similar organizations.  They are making improvements: Bauer shuttle service, fresh organic fruit on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On average, a person will attend 4 meetings a day of which, maybe 1 will be productive.  People need to do work versus meeting just to talk.  Red tape - its hard to get things done when there is a lack fo resources, too many procedures/processes or Bentonville colleagues asking for too much or demanding things right away without knowing how procedures work in Brisbane.

Pros

- While there are a ton of horror stories I could tell, most of my customers have been an absolute joy to help and assist with. I have made a lot of lifelong friends, and to be honest its one of the only reasons I have stayed as long as I have. - Stable hours, that's actually not very common for retail in my area.

Cons

- pay is very poor, it seems good on the surface but nowhere near as competitive as it looks once you realize all that you will be expected to do. expect to run 4-8 departments single handedly. - one of the most toxic environments in existence - Work technology tends to perform about as well as a car with one wheel. It seriously makes it virtually impossible to get anything done since 90% of your day to day tasks will require your work phone. - very, very cut throat work environment - no opportunity for advancement unless you take part in "cliques" and are buddy buddy with management, your performance is irrelevant.

Pros

Pros: -Unlimited PTO -Subsidized food -Free snacks and drinks

Cons

Cons: -401K match only kicks in after 1 year -Hyper competitive, political, hierarchical, narcissistic culture riddled with backstabbing -Tensions among high level executives -Performance review consists of endless criticisms and no positive feedback -Peer review designed to discredit and make you look bad -The entire company just going thru the motion to look good. Pressure to spin success stories, instead of fixing what truly needs to be fixed to play catch up with Amazon. -Unrealistic expectations. -Roles and priorities are unfocused. Asked to do more and more work without a clear strategy or framework. -Bad systems and tools. A lot of grunt work to get reports and analyses and visibility into business. Spent a lot time submitting tickets for system issues. Long hours. -Poor training and onboarding process. Not set up for success. -Agreed with the comments below. Beware of certain categories like home and fashion! If you have options, do not join! This company will rob you of your morale, make your life a living hell and lead you down to depression!
