Pros

A challenging work environment that tests your fortitude and sharpens your leadership and people skills. Offers the chance to many to move up and take on leadership roles. Management team learns many skills in a variety of areas including merchandising, operations, human resources, conflict resolution, financial responsibility and customer service.

Cons

The retail industry itself is tough and requires working weekends, holidays and the overnight shift. Must be very flexible to change for Walmart is constantly rolling out new programs. The constant turnover of staff makes it challenging to develop a strong team to accomplish the numerous goals set forth by the company.

Pros

Steady work, steady pay, quarterly bonuses. After a year vacation, personal time, and sick time.

Cons

Working with management is a headache. Most look down on all of their employees regardless of their work performance.
