Pros

Working with a variety of people is a bonus. The potential for career growth is there. Being a global company, there are no limitations on where you could work. Usually at your own discression.

Cons

Pay, if lower on the management pole. Its easy to get your foot in the door through hard work and dedication. However, those traits are not valued at Wal-Mart. Being such a large company political preference create a large obstacle in getting promoted. Its all about who you know. So if a career with this company is in your future goals, start networking ASAP. That is the key to success for the vast majority.

Pros

there are a lot of career opportunities between store operations and corporate; fun, high energy environment; very open communication at corporate level.

Cons

environment is extremely demanding and fast paced at corporate level. At store level it is very challenging with the demands of the job, the flexibility required with hours and relocation to succeed, and the high sales volume, not to mention the number of associates working in a store and the amount of customers.

Pros

Great Pay, Great People at store level, Job Security. Pharmacy is closed on some holidays, but not all. Wal-mart is a very stable company.

Cons

Getting time off is very difficult. Often go through 2-3 requests before DM allows time off. The company keeps changing staffing guidelines so you never get additional pharmacist help. It often places pharmacists in an unsafe filling environment.
