Pros

If you can make it to a management position the pay is fairly decent. The people are friendly as well.

Cons

One of the downsides of working at wal-mart would have to be that they treat all employees as if they are in elementary school.

Pros

Great potential for advancement. Training for management is very thorough. Open Door Policy is handled very professionally. Can have a tremendous family atmosphere in the right store. Company continues to grow.

Cons

Has lost a lot of what made it great to begin with. Very little of what Sam Walton spoke about in "Made in America" is still implemented today. Managers can't merchandise. Company is far too rigid and structured to allow itself to grow as it once did.

Pros

If you are a slacker and love to avoid working, helping others and being looked down upon by managers then this is the place to be.

Cons

Management was distant, incoherent, unhelpful and sometimes down right condescending. Many times you weren't allowed to talk to a store manager and when you could it was unproductive. Very demanding also. Many co-workers could care less about helping customers. It was frustrating.
