Pros

The people, hands down, are some of the best I've ever worked with. They become almost like family. This doesn't include the higher management, who will work you like slaves to line their pockets while expecting everyone else to work on minimum wage.

Cons

Expect to work overtime hours (including Saturdays) without overtime pay. While the company says it values "family time" don't expect to have any. The shift times are ridiculous and allow for very little time away from work. The turnaround on employees is high because people are hired and promised pay increases, insurance, etc. but rarely, if ever, see it. They dangle that carrot in front of you with empty promises and hope you don't get wise. Temps will work an average of 2 years before hiring. They work a loophole that ensures the temp remains a temp so the management doesn't have to hire them and provide benefits and time off. Most walk out.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. If you are able/willing to provide more detail, please reach out to our People Services Team (peopleservices@watcocompanies.com). In order for us to consistently improve, more detail on the temp concern would be helpful as we don't utilize temp team members at most locations and also provide insurance to all full time team members, so additional information would be helpful. Thank you.

Pros

I worked at Watco as the Benefits Manager for a little over 2 years, and I have to say that Watco, as a whole, is an incredible organization. Watco goes to great lengths to treat every Team Member as a family member, and is always striving to do the right thing in every aspect inside and outside of work. Watco is one of those few remaining companies in the US today that will pay you a fair dollar for your hard work. The harder you work for them, the more they will recognize and reward you and take care of you. Its not often that you can find this anymore, as most companies just consider you a number, however, Watco considers you as a contributor to yours and theirs success from the lowest to the highest level. If your willing to invest in them, then will invest in your future. I truly enjoyed working at Watco, and would strongly recommend Watco to anyone thinking about applying here. I know there are a few negatives on Glassdoor about Watco, but my experience was a polar opposite from the rest of the reviews on here. The individuals I met and worked with were genuine people that I will forever keep in contact with. Lastly, Watco has a limitless amount of possibilities for any individual to grow. There is no where but up for your career goals here. Even if you want to move into a different sector of the company, Watco will do its best to get you there. Just as an example of how great Watco is, I notified them I would be leaving the company, and my new role would be completely different than what I was doing for Watco. Then, Watco decided to spend my last two days working for them on training me for my new position with another company. They knew that my new position would require me to hire new Team Members, so they allowed me to sit in on some interviews as well as run some interviews with them. Honestly, what company does that? They were still investing in me until the minute I left the office. These are truly great people here, and anyone seeking employment with them, would be making a good decision.

Cons

There are no really big cons to working here. if there was one, I would say the amount of work that is put on your plate. However, as stated before. hard work does not go unrecognized with Watco. The harder you work, the more you will be rewarded.
