Pros

Good benefits, 401k and stock options.. but you can find this just about anywhere you go nowadays.

Cons

The company overall is halfway decent (or shall I say was before covid) but there is not enough accountability for the managers at store level so they basically can do whatever they want. They tend to pick favorites and promote family members or close friends rather than those who deserve it. Managers only communicate amongst themselves and talk down to staff, often gaslighting them and disrespectfully putting them down. Often short staffed and underpaid. They hire new workers at higher rates than loyal employees who have been there for years. They do not train well and often set you up to fail. High volume of workload and stress. If it weren't for the benefits and stock options this company would be nill. Also, you do not get hardly any pto or sick time. Only what you accrue which isn't much even after years of service. They never and I mean never close so you can never fully catch up or catch a break. You are forced to work graveyard shift to move forward into management which is ridiculous. VERY TOXIC ENVIRONMENT AND LOTS OF DRAMA!! NOT GOOD FOR MENTAL HEALTH. If you're gonna work hard atleast go where you will be appreciated and recognized!

Pros

There is good pay and benefits.

Cons

This company has a poor training process (which doesn't include more about safety and ergonomics) and organizational justice, do not do anything for employee protection (harassment, even minors, and with robberies), allow a hostile work environment which also includes discrimination, favoritism, no good work/life balance, very hard on you for a mistake you did once while someone else can do that same thing and not care, recognition only for covering shifts. The pros I would say are why people stay and they know that. This company is very draining and stressful, especially in management. I've been at 3 stores and it was the same just different people, really. (This sounds harsh but learning HR as a major I have come to see behind the curtains)

Pros

Lots of hard working passionate people. I saw people put many nights and weekends in to get projects over the line. We are really changing lives every day!

Cons

My headcount budget was very limited. I couldn't hire and build up the team I wanted. Also, wawa is going through a lot of growing pains right now.
