Pros

Good pay for retail, bnot at the associate level though.

Cons

- Faking it till you make it is a skill that is valued above hard work and dependability. - They want worker bees with hive minds who will drink the kool aid, not independent thinkers with ideas. - They go on and on about their commitment to values but when it comes time to step up to the plate and deliver upon them the path of least resistance is taken. - Every manager I ever met there is absolutely miserable. But remember, you have to have fake cheer, a bs smile on your face, and a positive lilt to your voice. And don;t forget your kool-aid! Miserty with a smile and a fake positive attitude is creepy. - They celebrate mediocrity. I witnessed someone get promoted to another location because it was easier than firing him, witnessed numerous policy violations rack up without documentation and termination, and an abusive co-worker allowed to run rampant because, I don't know why, still trying to figure that one out. - Be ready to kiss some butt if you want to get ahead here.

Pros

Great benefits, ESOP, 401K with company match, great pay, lots of vacation time for supervisors and managers, vacation time for associates as well, monthly bonuses, always room for advancement, company lives by a value system, many resources, raise money for local organizations, community involvement, paid maternity leave. They truly believe in time vested into their employees and management teams. They spend a lot time and money on making sure all the new hires and new management gets the training and development they need. They have classes online and in a training center for managers/supervisors. They are all about team work.

Cons

Depending on locations, it can be very fast paced. Sometimes it's hard to get all tasks completed. When in a store with a higher turnover rate it calls for longer hours but with the right management team the turnover can be fixed pretty quickly. Challenges can include external management taking longer to develop, some personality clashes. Depending on the location, theft can be high.

Pros

Some great and fun co-workers who have become wonderful friends. Some great members in management who work alongside their employees.

Cons

Not enough pay for the amount of work that's expected. The more you do the more they expect of you. Little or no breaks at all during 8 or 9 hour shifts. Younger employees and members in management stand around and talk while the older employees do all of the work. Constant turnover and firings. Younger employees get moved up too management with little or no experience and are then expected to be trained by the longtime and older employees who are paid less than they are. Customers are allowed to scream at employees while management just stands there and does nothing.
