Pros

One thing I truly admired was the bold, unwavering optimism from leadership. After the layoff of 1,650 employees on January 19, 2024, the CEO confidently declared: “Our toughest stretch is now behind us. And I think our best year is right in front of us.” Inspiring! And, just as predicted, by the end of 2024, the stock had only dropped by about 20%—while the SP 500 soared 20–25%, and revenues declined in a year when US real GDP climbed by almost 3%. It was quite refreshing to work for a company where confidence seems inversely proportional to performance.

Cons

For a deeper understanding of what my time at Wayfair felt like, I recommend reading "BS Jobs: A Theory" by David Graeber.
