Pros

Cool, fun niche market that is targeted towards entertainment. Remote first policy with office in Vancouver to work from and catch up with folks. Annual summit event was great. Contribute production oversight to a flagship YouTube channel and watch it grow. Fair compensation and benefits which are great.

Cons

The motion design role leans heavily toward production execution, so you'll be brought in at kickoff, after concepts and storyboards are already set, rather than during earlier ideation. This may not be an issue depending on how you want to grow in the role. If you're somebody wanting to push more motion design strategy, you might find the scope narrower than expected.

Great place to learn and grow

Pros

As the title says, great place to learn and grow. Has a culture around fostering pride in the work we do. Great people to surround yourself around and work with, they carry honesty and integrity every day!

Cons

Sometimes there are challenges around communication, especially in a hybrid environment. However, we manage and get the job done. It also used to be difficult navigating various timezones and your peers logging off at various times of the day. This has since been rectified and colleagues are now operating on PST timezone to align the team and deliverables more effectively.

Pros

- Interview process was smooth. I knew what to expect at every stage and communication was very clear. - Salary was fair - For the most part the people were great and made an effort to integrate new hires

Cons

I can only speak for the PM team as other teams may have had a very different experience. - The culture that was talked about during the recruitment process was not reflected on this team - Lots of micromanagement and over involvement from the Director making it impossible to learn and work independently - Misaligned direction from PM leadership made it challenging to understand process - High turnover of PMs Overall my peers and direct manager were lovely but the Director was a challenging person to work with. It was very clear when this person was absent that the team dynamic felt more relaxed, collaborative and productive.
