Pros

- Extremely talented and smart coworkers - Remote work environment is a big plus - Career growth opportunities are available if you're willing to work hard

Cons

- Very high performance expectations. I saw many people fired within the first few months based on not meeting ELT performance standards - Executive leadership is extremely demanding, with an expectation to be available 24/7 - Workload increases significantly with company growth and there is little to no additional compensation for the extra work - WEG is primarily focused on hitting EBITDA growth targets, often at the expense of the companies it acquires. Leadership tends to make promises to potential acquisition targets that are not followed through on once the deal is closed, prioritizing the financials over the well-being of the people and the long-term success of the acquired companies.

Pros

Advertising - Marketing Team work hard to bring in clients for advisors They Try to put clients first

Cons

Company has just moved to a sales force tracking system that is not intuitive. Many of Employees will tell you that they are growing, this may seem good however the ability of the current technology team or help desk are not able to respond or help with how to run sales force . I have been in this industry for many years and I have never seen a CRM system so complex and convoluted. Many of the developers who put sales force in place are not receptive to input from the employees. Many of the employees who use the sales force system are asked to change the processes that they have learned the month before. Many simple tasks tha would take a matter of minuets at other firms will take 10 to 20 minuets to complete. There no universal or standard way to update a task each Advisory team uses different ways to name accounts or types.

Cares For Their Clients, Less So For Their Workers

Pros

The corporate culture is great. Senior leadership all genuinely care about our clients and decisions seem to be made with their interests in mind. They all know their craft and the business seems to be heading in a great direction as they continue to expand nationally. There are also a lot of opportunities for continuing education. They will compensate you for class for licensing, certifications and other professional classes. Great work life balance - unless a market emergency happens, you will typically get to leave your job at the office.

Cons

There is no easy way to say this, but unless you are an advisor or part of the leadership, the compensation is really uncompetitive. 25-30% below the general market rate in the Twin Cities is common. The 401k match is on the skimpy side (works out to a 2% match), although the profit sharing element does help. Staff is regularly overworked, which becomes overwhelming when there seems to be no avenue for promotion.
