Pros

Equipment stipend and ongoing learning

Cons

This was the worst treatment I received from a company. You can’t claim positively and support but then make up resasons to fire people when they are pregnant or facing life threatening illnesses such as cancer. The managers are good at giving positive reviews to keep up with their positive culture but I took 1 day off and let my manager know that I was facing something serious and a few days later I was contacted and told that I was being fired due to poor performance. There was zero evidence to support this claim and suddenly those ‘nice’ people turn real cold and rude. You are then promptly removed from all software. Thankfully, they are now legally registered in South Africa so they can be taken up to the CCMA. They don’t hire for the long term and they hate when people have previous experience. You will be told to forget anything you know and follow their approaches which is t always ethical or fair to clients. Every second of your day will be tracked. They say this is to provide clients with evidence of work but it’s actually to watch everything you do. South Africans don’t get any real promotions, just promises that aren’t taken seriously. These people treat us like we are stupid

Pros

Some great mature staff, however few and far between all the 'Tik Tok culture' college grads. A positive or negative depending on your state of consciousness.

Cons

I was forced to take legal action against them concerning adherence to labor laws after being fired due to a situation regarding ethical workplace practices. It was an extended process of victimization, retaliation, procedural failings, and the exploitation of severance agreements to suppress dissent. I ultimately won the case. This statement aims to inform current and prospective employees, fostering transparency and accountability. Pattern of Retaliation: Leading up to me being fired, I raised legitimate concerns about operational inefficiencies and misconduct by a leader, initially resolved with an apology. However, I was later subjected to an "HR review process," involving delayed and vague allegations unrelated to my performance. These actions reflected victimization as defined under labor laws of my country, where employees are unfairly targeted for exercising their rights or raising concerns. WebFX’s response was retaliatory rather than grounded in transparent or timely disciplinary procedures. Shift in Focus: Initially, the company's concerns were framed around my health condition (PTSD). When that approach failed to hold up, the company shifted its focus to vague behavioral and conduct issues, many of which were months old and had not been previously addressed. Failure to Follow Due Process: The company did not follow the principles of progressive discipline or provide timely documentation and warnings, as required by law. Instead, they introduced multiple allegations at once, clearly indicating retaliatory motives rather than legitimate concerns. I was terminated without clear documentation or adherence to due process, such as progressive discipline or timely warnings, as required by law. The dismissal coincided with the my challenge of procedural breaches, raising concerns about retaliatory motives. Understaffing: WebFX seemingly employs a single HR professional to oversee these matter for 500+ employees across multiple regions, which is likely what lead to the procedural inefficiencies and a lack of support. This insufficient HR capacity creates systemic vulnerabilities, including delays, documentation lapses, and non-compliance with labor laws. "Gratitude Payment" Conditions: The company offered a payment contingent upon me signing a waiver of legal rights. While presented as a goodwill gesture, this tactic effectively silences employees and prevents them from seeking justice or exposing unethical practices. Silencing Dissent: Such agreements are commonly used to avoid accountability, undermining employees' ability to advocate for fair treatment or speak publicly about their experiences. WebFX’s actions in this case highlight systemic issues that undermine trust, fairness, and adherence to labor laws. Transparency, accountability, and ethical treatment of employees are fundamental to a healthy workplace. Current and prospective employees should remain vigilant, understand their rights, and seek legal counsel if they experience unfair treatment. Companies like WebFX must be held accountable to ensure that employees are empowered to work without fear of retaliation or exploitation. Ethical practices are not optional—they are essential for fostering trust and upholding the dignity of every worker

Pros

Quitting and regaining my sense of self back Health insurance On time payment each month

Cons

Many reviews harp on about the long days, unrealistic workload and time tracked work. That, of course, is gruelling. I’d like to keep it short and sweet - WebFX do not value their employees. They treat you like a number and prioritize nothing except for how fast you can work. They have zero empathy, no understanding that we’re human and sometimes, we do get sick etc. After quitting, I came to terms with their exploitative mindset and how terribly they treat their employees. I have found myself again, my happiness and my self worth. I lost all of that with WebFX.
