Competitive salary and benefits, overall work/life balance is good for me, momentum and spirit of a fast growing company (that also doesn't overextend itself), love my teammates I've met so far, work with lots of different companies

Hard to keep up with any changes across departments

Pros

The company has a lot of parties and hires people based on personality and culture fit, so you’ll get to know everyone quickly. Lots of learning opportunities to take advantage of, only if it’s within the goals of the company and their vision for your career there.

Cons

There are so many nuances to working there that you wouldn’t notice upon being hired, but let me assure you that I don’t know anybody who has been there over two years who still loves their job as much as they did when they first started. If anything, they dislike their jobs but they are so early in their careers that they want the experience of being at the agency before they jump ship to a better opportunity. Our team had a huge turnover rate that created a high-pressure environment where each person was implicitly required pick up the brunt of the work when others left the company. Several times colleagues would request less work, but management would ignore their pleas - mainly because they have no idea how much effort goes into the work - and subtly pressure you to overextend yourself at 100% productiveness even after working hours. If you have personal problems or issues outside of the workplace, know that they will be discussed at length within the ranks of the company. There were very inappropriate things that happened during my time there, mainly regarding how management operated and reacted to my peers’ hardships. Through instant messages and message threads only privvy to senior team members, management would insensitively discuss how an issue affected the work of the individual and how their personal life would afflict the team. If we knew about a personal situation through the individual themselves, we were told by management not to discuss it with anyone to keep the morale positive. These issues were never truly acknowledged and, at least in the time I was there, management’s disregard was never fully rectified in the eyes of the employees. Countless times my peers had asked to provide sensitivity training to our management, but we didn’t expect it to go anywhere. If you have problems with the work itself, whether it’s a moral issue or otherwise, keep those to yourself, too. As much as webfx claims to be open to talking about work/life balance, Diversity/Equality/Inclusion, and mental health, you put yourself and your career there at risk when you show vulnerability as a human being. If you expect to leave the company, don’t be surprised if you’re ignored completely by management and some colleagues. Coworkers you thought would be there for you throughout your career will be told to separate themselves from you once you’re out of the company.
