Pros

Great culture. Sincere leadership.

Cons

The company is a sales driven environment. You either like it, or you don't. That said, there is a serious focus on fun.

Great to hear! Thanks for the props on some of our favorite things about WeddingWire, our culture and leadership! We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback on Sales. You are right, it isn't for everyone but our hope is that regardless of your position we are offering the best possible employee experience.

Pros

- casual attire - unlimited PTO (as long as you hit your goals...) - in-depth training

Cons

-Culture: The culture at WW is basically an odd combination of High School and College. There are actual CLIQUES and then the rest of it is basically about drinking. If you aren't a fan of fitting into cliques and don't like to be "iced" randomly and pressured into taking shots then you're not going to fit in at all. It's very much so geared towards those who just got out of college and were into the social/party scene. If you're looking to actually grow up - there aren't many "cultured" opportunities for that. When you do have ideas on how to mature the culture, people will literally look right at you and say "no one cares, everyone just wants to drink". (I can't make this stuff up.) -Sales/Goals: As you will see in several other reviews, newer sales reps are frequently given harder territories, if you don't succeed, then you're out. They won't give you a new territory and you are made to feel foolish for even thinking of asking for a new one. It won't matter how many calls you make or how hard you're trying, if you have a territory in a low income market, your goals won't match that. You're expected to sell just as much as higher income markets. -Management: Clearly plays favorites. There are certain managers that are great, but there are only a few. This goes right back to those cliques.

We sincerely regret to hear about your experience at WeddingWire. We pride ourselves on providing a unique, positive employee experience that is founded on a strong culture and it sounds like we missed here with you. Indeed, we have a fairly large population of recent university grads where WeddingWire could be one of their first professional roles. We try our best to promote a cohesive environment that works extremely hard and equally celebrates wins as one WeddingWire team. We take your feedback very seriously - we’re not a company that would ever condone some of the behaviors that you suggest in your feedback and will look into some of your comments. We practice a competitive, fair territory assignment methodology that allows every employee to thrive. Sales careers are not for everyone, and we are confident that we provide the tools and structure for our employees to be successful; however, your feedback is helpful to us as we are constantly looking to remain competitive and employing best practices to support our goal of being a Top Employer.
