Pros

pay is decent by yourself

Cons

10-12 hour days, 6 days a week. Required to make sales in order to go home on top of doing the assigned jobs no benefits, any chance to not pay they will take. No overtime despite 60-70 hour weeks

Pros

Will pay for your technician license. Weekends off. Holidays off.

Cons

Upper management is eager to move hourly employees to production pay because they end up making less money overall. There is limited customer density, outdated technology, missing local support structure, and many jobs that ultimately make you walk away with less money than if you were in training. Unlicensed, training hourly employees make more than seasoned production team members. When bringing this up to management, their idea to alleviate it is for you to add more jobs or make more sales (despite you already working overtime hours for no overtime pay every day of the week). Not only that, but they don't pay attention to your paychecks to begin with. They "accidentally" lost over $400 of one of mine, later replacing it. Abhorrent environmental practices. Illegally puts people in the field before they are licensed. Little to no training on chemical application processes- WILL throw you to the wolves. High turnover rate. Upper management communicates poorly to the point of lying and going back on its word. Wants to skip the part in the business where they invest in their people and process, wants to go straight to when it's successful. Blames poor results on everybody but themselves, no sense of responsibility. Lawn care process is outdated and outdone by every other company in the area (Don't believe me? You can look at the lawns of competitors.). Overall: low pay, poor practices, and most of all, negligent and greedy management/ownership.
