8 years ago, availability wasn't an issue. Now, if you are a full time associate, you must have 100% open availability, which is an issue when you have no choice but to have a second job to supplement your income of this low paying job! Instead of Upper Management focusing on the problems, they create new problems and sweep the old ones under the carpet. There is little or no recognition for the valuable employees who go above and beyond. The behavior of managers and leaders is terrible, they do not hesitate to discipline or degrade you in front of customers and co-workers. Seniority means nothing, hard work means nothing and dedication means nothing!

The management and corporate level is horrifically ignorant, poorly trained, inexperienced and committed to making the life of employees miserable. Managers are barely high school educated (and apparently not from academically successful institutions). Training is virtually non-existent and "promotions" are based on whoever does WHATEVER the manager dictates. Knowledge of policies and procedures is non-existent; even amongst the "corporate support experts". Violations of OSHA standards is a daily company-wide experience (i.e. broken razor sharp glass in a frozen food case for YEARS at one PA location). The more questions one asks the more one will be persecuted by management. Confusion regarding job responsibilities is how they manipulate, coerce and bully employees. Age and sex discrimination is rampant in this company. Lack of education and training is how they "control" employees who live in constant fear of being fired. Advancement and training is promised but not delivered upon, thereby leaving the company to demote individuals for lack of training and skill sets to better perform their jobs.
