Pros
Is an organization with a solid mission and great values; opportunity to work with people who truly want to help improve the health of individuals and the community at large; HQ/decisions are made locally within the system and not in some remote place; provide lots of care and service to those who cannot pay; non-profit organization; good pay, benefits, and time off; tuition reimbursement is available; opportunities for advancement are definitely present but you do need to have a solid background (education) and have some good relationships in place.
Cons
As with any organization there is drama; there are some managers who are not willing to be strong by either standing up for or against their employees when the situation warrants it; the system is growing rapidly and with that comes the growing pains of change as it pertains to clinging on to how things have been done in the past especially based on geography; some semblance of the "Good Ole Boys" club in Senior Leadership.
