Pros

Campus is beautiful, students are great.

Cons

Technology Services department is totally dysfunctional. Upper administration micromanages everybody's projects, CIO has no respect for people's time and is consistently late to meetings, but then basically negates everybody's ideas and overrides any other unit's decisions. The entire college is struggling, but they don't let the public see that part. All the public sees is the $2 billion endowment, but guess what? That money can't be touched for operations or day-to-day expenses, so buildings are literally falling apart, technology is out-of-date and failing, and morale is LOW. Also, the pay at Wellesley is far less than other higher education institutions in Greater Boston. I've since moved on to greener pastures and am better paid and much happier. If you desire autonomy, a sense of purpose, and good, respectful management, look elsewhere. You won't find it at Wellesley!

Pros

Brilliant and energetic faculty, students, and staff who all deeply believe in the College's mission to educate women who will make a difference in the world. Also, it is the most beautiful campus in the world.

Cons

Money has been tight for years due to the need to create room in the operating budget to repair the College's aging buildings.

Pros

Decent benefits Had some warm colleagues Beautiful campus

Cons

Lack of investment in their (non-tenured) faculty and staff while spending $$$ to upgrade buildings; cutting curriculum and staff by 10% despite having over a billion dollars in their endowment Entitled, toxic students who simultaneously think the world revolves around them while also suffering from severe mental health concerns that the College does little to treat effectively (note the suicides that occur each year or two) Overall elitist feel, not only from the campus but also the town of Wellesley (example: they look down at faculty for renting; many instances of racism experienced by my colleagues of color)
