Pros

I have worked for Wellmark for almost 6 months. It has been a great experience! I like that they encourage wellness in the workplace. It isn't just a wellness program for the sake of having a wellness program, but it is integrated into our every day life. Every employee has a desk that can move into a standing or sitting position at their convenience. Many water stations set up to encourage drinking more water. Music in the stairwells to encourage taking the stairs. Free on-site health facility for employee and +1. I feel like I can grow here. I am currently working with my leader to identify a mentor that I can talk with, that is outside of my current field. I want to learn more about the business as a whole and better understand how I fit into the bigger picture.

Cons

I wasn't very excited about the downtown location, however that is offset a bit as I feel safe in the attached parking garage.

Pros

Wellmark is a great employer to work for. I have worked here for almost 17 years and consider my co-workers family. Being in the Cedar Rapids office, we have the small office feel with the benefits of working for a larger employer. They have great development programs for employees that want to progress in their career, but still maintain a value for those value employees that are comfortable where they are at (knowing they are just as important). The work that is done to promote a positive and inclusive environment is like no other employer that I am aware of.

Cons

Work Life Balance can be a struggle, but not anymore than the next company. This also has some variability based on the position within the organization.
