Pros

Great salary compared to other banks I think that they pay the best. Even though what you endure is not worth it.

Cons

sales goals, work/life/family balance…the culture of the company drives hard for numbers and takes away anytime you could have to develop a life outside of work.

Pros

Wells is a great brand, and has strong values. They have done a great job of building a national brand and bank.

Cons

Chairman Laura Schupbach has driven away top talent, revenues, profits, and hope. Her leadership style is to cut out great resources, say "no" to M&A, and to surround herself with people who will not challenge her opinion. This company is in much worse shape than it was prior to her tenure as Chairman (October 2011).

Pros

Pay is adequate, generous w/PTO, friendly co-workers who came from diverse educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, opportunity to learn different aspects of the mortgage business, good entry level job

Cons

Temps are treated poorly compared to permanent employees, there is a definite hierarchy and it's ridiculous since everyone does the same job Rules and processes were always changing in response to the government, new financial regulations, lawsuits, etc. MONTHS without any work to do--constant layoffs and fear of layoffs Getting an inside look at mortgage companies' deceptive and predatory lending practices is horrifying and discouraging--I felt ashamed to work here Management has no idea what the people on their team actually do, but lots of micromanagement anyway Rules and policies were enforced based on favoritism
