Pros

Large, well respected financial services company. Good place to be your career. Decent teamwork and good benefit package overall. Many opportunities across the company Strong Sales Culture

Cons

Management tends to lead from the top down and does not take the time to truly listen to their employee's or customer experience. If top management could correct this, they would be able to truly become one of america's great companies. However, the situation is becoming worse rather than better

Pros

Very stable company with opportunities to grow. Benefits were among the best I've ever seen, and for banking, great use of and investment in technology.

Cons

Banking doesn't pay as much as other industries. Federal regulations and audits make "in house" innovation hard because all code, macros, and procedures must be approved before using. Rarely does one get to use their own use of macros for efficiency because of these guidelines.

Pros

Lower level managers are promoted through the ranks and understand the position they're supervising. Benefits package is OK. Variety of hours and shifts available through phone bank.

Cons

Monthly and quarterly goals are very close to unreachable considering the other duties not tied to primary job requirements... i.e. tracking, paperwork and meetings that keep you from actually talking to customer. Computer systems are terrible and require need to access 15-20 programs while helping each customer. Wachovia WAS a great employer and the things that drew employees are quickly being whittled away. Many longtime employees are disillusioned with the downgrades in the company and are leaving in droves.. despite a tough job market.
