      Amazing culture, best and brightest people, not your average IT consulting firm or staff aug / PM shop

      Pros

      People are very good, highly educated, success-oriented and make you step up your game to be relevant and keep up. New office in Chicago is very cool and adds even more collegial feel than even before. Transparency is real with financials and strategy, client satisfaction scores, and what leadership is thinking and doing (even personal calendars are open to view!). Not the same as other mid sized firms who really just do staff augmentation and project management or general IT consulting. West Monroe is a consulting firm with management/strategy/industry capabilities, business process/functional capabilities, and technology expertise and implementation.

      Cons

      Variety and velocity of projects often result in juggling or multitasking which is hard to keep head above water at times, not for people who want long single project and client engagements for year(s).

      Pros

      Incredibly smart and talented people. An eagerness from everyone to learn and share knowledge. Very ambitious and focused group of people. Employee friendly in most aspects, especially work-life balance. Variety of projects.

      Cons

      Lack of transparency - something WMP prides itself on, but is actually very bad at. Random firings with no explanation, no transparency into review/salary process. Some very pretentious, frat boy like employees who love to compare how awesome their respective neighborhoods are.

      Pros

      - Compensation and benefits are fair - Fun activities and charitable environment - Nice office and some really good people

      Cons

      - No real methodology for younger consultants - Inner circle of people that are over valued - Company decided to grow really fast by hiring unproven senior managers from other firms that had little experience in leading and growing the business - Bad strategic hiring has made it difficult for line consultants to learn, grow, and get experience - Again the inner circle is protected while new hires are set-up to fail
