      Pros

      Trying to grow in dying business sector via consolidation. Growth through merger and acquisition vs. organic growth.

      Cons

      CYA is always in play. Obsolete management techniques. Low moral. I work here expressed and shown in employee and management attitude.

      Pros

      The company used to be cutting edge and empowered the employees. Is huge and you can hide easily - pay is decent for the industry - money isn't every thing

      Cons

      Now the company is a personality/suck up contest - people are leaving in droves and will hurt the bottom line for awhile - it will be longer if the cycle of pulp and paper starts the downward spiral... Senior management have lost what they once had and employees know it.

      Great company until Mead-Westvaco merged with us

      Plenty of opportunity and learning for younger employees

      Cons

      1. This used to be a good company until Mead-Westvaco merged with RockTenn. Now the Mead-Westvaco board members are starting to run this company into the ground and it will be consumed by newer companies coming into this market because they can't get over their big egos. 2. Upper management seems to keep a lot of secrets 3. Managers use the "knowledge is power" more and more like the International Paper dictators do 4. There seem to be a lot of "knee jerk" reactions to market conditions
