Pros

Interesting and varied work with highly talented co-workers. Flexible work schedule. Beautiful setting in the woods. Great short term profit sharing.

Cons

New CEO has quickly changed the R&D culture from innovation to bean counting. Short term view makes me question the long term existence of R&D. Corp is moving to Seattle, divorcing any connection with the existing community. Middle management has difficulty in planning and communicating the future. Specific business focus means no one has an eye on "outside the box" opportunities that cross business lines. What used to be a culture of constantly developing innovative products has digressing into the maintenance of commodity products. Good for short term, not so much for long term . . .

Pros

Lots of good people work at Weyerhaeuser, but it is definitely an older workforce. They are an interesting place to learn tons of things.

Cons

Instability of jobs at Weyerhaeuser, some managers that shouldn't be managers, negative atmosphere. New CEO appears to carry only about stock holders, no longer are the employees the #1 asset!

Pros

Stated mission, values vision are very positive. Company with a great history and reputation. Lots of great people still work there. Great benefit package.

Cons

Actions speak louder than words and there is a disparity between what the company says and how it actually treats its employees in recent history. The importance of strong HR support and people values seems to have been lost somewhere along the way.
