Pros

Work from home, coworkers and immediate managers are extremely wonderful and I would’ve left a long time ago without them

Cons

Literally everything else. If you’re working in any position under the ‘Operations’ umbrella, you are treated as less than human. Absolutely no one I work with in Trust and Safety or Support makes anywhere near enough money to survive. On top of that, we are REQUIRED to work weekends and holidays with only 5 days of PTO per quarter. They gaslight us in meetings telling us they pay top of market for our positions, but anyone with access to Google can tell you we don’t make anywhere near what other Trust and Safety agents do. Many of us need to take on part time jobs to be able to survive, and then are told by upper management that that’s a conflict of interest and will take focus away from Whatnot if we have another job. We have tried so many times to politely address to upper management that we are burnt out, struggling, and mistreated only to be laughed at and told we should be thankful to have a job that gives us so many wonderful benefits. We don’t even get access to any of those said benefits anymore. Our last performance review cycle, I witnessed so many top performers only get a 1% raise for the backbreaking work they do day in and day out for this company. We are killing ourselves with not only nothing to show for it, but they don’t mind adding more to our plates and daily workloads. You are going to lose every single high performer and all of your top talent by treating them like garbage. Listen to your employees. Please. We want to work here and we want to do our jobs well, we just want to be treated fairly. We shouldn’t have to beg you guys for that. Shame on you.

Pros

No pros that I can think of. The only pros are no longer offered here.

Cons

Biggest con is the pay, both my wife and I work full time and have no kids but we are barely getting by. I brought pay up to leadership and was told to be grateful I have a job. That was when my eyes really started to open on what was going on here. There is no opportunity for advancement here none of us agents have gotten promoted the entire time I have been here. There are no plans to promote either. Clear favoritism I have personally witnessed someone that is extremely toxic taking credit for other people's work, constantly bashing on people and causing non stop drama, instead of that person getting reprimanded or anything they were given a brand new position with more pay and more power. I can not tell you how hard it has become to do my job properly. We try to keep the platform safe but the executives rather a false GMV instead of the user experience. When I first started the CEO would boost that we are for users and the buyer experience. That mindset has gone out the window, we are GMV over anything and everything.

Pros

WFH, and I love my coworkers

Cons

There are multiple cons about working here. Pay: all of the operations agents (Support & Trust and Safety & Fraud) are paid very poorly, we are told constantly that we are paid higher then all other companies. But thanks to Glassdoor we were able to see that was a lie. Most recent raises we were given a 2 percent increase. That doesn't even beat inflation, we lost money by staying here. Several of our benefits have been slashed and holiday pay is almost never right. It is messed up that I work here full time and work overtime but I still do not make enough to cover basic needs. I know the executives will laugh while they stay in their penthouses and 16 million dollar mansion living the good life. Promotions: the only people that get promoted drink the Kool aid or are best friends with the VPs. There is no opportunity for growth here. This company does not reward loyalty. Culture: the culture here is extremely toxic, bad behavior is rewarded instead of being punished. All the other departments treat the Ops team like we are trash. Every team in the company is provided multiple offsites where as the Ops team was told we are not permitted to have one because we are required to work. Time off: do not believe about the unlimited PTO it is false, you are allowed 5 days per quarter and you are required to work on Holidays. It is boasted about how everyone needs rest and relaxation except for Ops. The Executive team: I really hope they are reading this, Ops is banding together and communicating with each other now. The executive team cares more about making money over keeping the platform safe and trusted. Whatnot used to be the most trusted platform out there, but recently the Executives have decided they wanted money instead, this is also hurting our buyers and small businesses as they want nothing to do with the platform now. To the Executive team pay the agents more, and actually listen to us when we voice our opinion to tell you that the changes that are being made are ruining something that was once great. Please actually care about your employees again. Make Whatnot great again. If the changes are not made soon then I can forsee this once great company becoming a distant memory and fall like the Roman Empire.
