Pros
- Amazing culture - people feel genuinely excited to be working at Whatnot together towards a common goal. - People - Everyday I am in awe of my coworkers and how smart, driven, creative, and kind they are. The people who work here make everyday fun. - Ownership - flexibility to test new ideas/tactics without too much red-tape. There is a huge amount of trust in everyone to act on behalf of Whatnot and our goals. - Adaptability - constant improvements across the org (product, company structure, team workflows/operating rhythm, etc.). Feedback is encouraged across all levels and when necessary, changes/improvements are implemented quickly.
Cons
Since we move really fast and the org is constantly growing and pivoting, clear communication about changes aren't always prioritized (both within teams and cross-functionally). Since Whatnot is a 24/7 marketplace, sometimes it can be difficult to disconnect and maintain balance with work. I feel constantly inspired and motivated to "do more," which is an exciting feeling but also a potential con if you struggle with setting boundaries.
