Pros

- The company itself is fairly young and it's great to see that it has already gained so much traction in the last year or so. While some teams are lagging, the overall engineering org is pretty solid. Lots of ex-Pinterest, Lyft, Uber, and FB engineers have joined the ranks and only time will tell until this company catches the main stream - The company is fully remote and has offices in SF, LA, and NYC. The benefits are great! For people trying to start a family, there's a $20k budget for family care and planning - Lots of opportunities to make great impact

Cons

- It's a blessing and a curse that company has achieved so much in such a short amount of time. On the practical side, you'd be paying so much on AMT taxes since the valuation is already high. Most people haven't even hit their 1 year cliff yet and for those that did, they probably don't know the tax implications on exercising ISO's and NSO's - Depending on your team, some teams are lagging in terms of hiring. So be prepared to grind it out!

Pros

The company takes care if its employees with probably one of the best benefits packages I've ever had in my entire career. This company is about moving fast, so perfect is not expected. Complete the task, present and gain feedback, then perfect. I love the growth model we work on as it allows room for error, learning, and change. This place is exciting. I have worked in tech and telecom for my entire professional journey (nearly a decade) and hands down, I've never worked for a company that has grown so much in such a short period of time, and it's sustained growth at that. It is not an out-of-control model, and there is real security here. We all want to succeed, and we all want to ensure we're maintaining our environment- so the teamwork mentality is strong here. People want to help each other out, and you are never made to feel silly for speaking up, speaking out, or adding to the conversation. You aren't looking over your shoulder. I've had to unlearn a massive amount of corporate trauma coming into this role. I'm used to having to explain myself, justify my actions, live under a microscope and abide by the rules. That is not the environment here at all. I feel so productive, because I get to balance my life with my job. As long as you're being productive, setting your goals and deadlines and meeting your commitments you get to take care of you! Some people might consider this a con but I think of it as a pro. There is no set guideline or real strenuous structure by which to operate. Some people need the structure but I love that we are able to create, make solutions, and implement new policies that make sense. It's not rigid, it's flexible and flows with business growth.

Cons

There are no real cons here but it's just little stuff! 1) the interview process is long. Very long. But it's rewarding. Once you get to the end and if you're extended an offer, it feels so great to have made it through a process and gotten the preliminary buy-in of your colleagues and leaders in the process. 2) there's (for now) only one insurance to choose from, which is just fine except my insurance is high deductible so my out of pocket is a little more than I expect. However, I'm compensated very well, and I'm made accommodations for my prescriptions so I can still have them all filled!
